This was one of those I've been told I should see, but never did. I knew it would be a strange film and to be honest didn't expect to enjoy it, and that was correct. I didn't enjoy it, but the film's style differend from my expectations. Instead of something with a little more straightforward

My problem wasn't that it was slow but it simply explored themes beyond my grasp; I couldn't find the will to ponder metaphysics, existentialism and/or other themes. I'm not sure on the terminology, but nonetheless it left me confused. I'm not sure how to talk about this film or what else to say, so I'll leave it at that.. 4/10
(Dec) I'm going to have to completely disagree with you there Jesse, I thouroghly enjoyed this film and it's attention grabbing wackyness made this a very engaging ride. I haven't seen it in a while so I can't go into specifics.
ReplyDeleteBut I remeber coming out of this film appreciating the deppressing, emotional point of view that had been shown to me over the previous 2 hours. It showcased to me in an eerie, dark style to be thankful for what we have and how quicly that can be taken away.
I distincly remember the last scene of the movie showing, the smallest decision could result in a long chain of diverse possibilities, 9/10 for me, it will always be a favourate.
Sacha just showed me your blog and out of the rest of the titles I have seen(The Bank Job, Wall-E, Deja Vu, This Is England, Avatar, Transformers and Sherlock Holmes) The only major dissagreement I can have with you based on your logic is that the 3D in Avatar is not to be missed, there are a few other things I do not agree on, but overall I think you are very spot on. I think its great you are doing this keep it up! 9 and a half out of ten for your blog.
thanks for that comment. With films like Donnie Darko it's almost down to chance; on another day I might have enjoyed it more. I appreciate your opinions and I plan to continue this so hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI have been enjoying all the other reviews thouruoghly though jesse, so keep it up!
